To all creatures.

GOchurch in motion - looking back with gratitude and looking forward!
A new season for GOchurch
Since 2019, GOchurch may be a missionary community for status holders, refugees and Dutch people on Goeree-Overflakkee. What began as a pioneer place of the PKN, has grown in six years into a colorful and thriving community where we may witness God's love daily. In that, we are ever grateful for your support and commitment!
Moving forward together with Ichthus Alive
The period as a pioneer place within the PKN is coming to an end - as known in advance - after six years. This marks a natural moment of transition. We are happy and grateful that GOchurch will continue independently under the wings of Ichthus Alive. With their support we can continue to focus on what really matters: making God's love visible. At the same time, as a community we now take responsibility for our own growth, organization and finances.

Our calling remains the same
Thanks to your amazing commitment, support and prayers, we as GOchurch can continue our work. Our desire remains to witness, in the midst of society, God's love for all people.
We want to ask you to continue to pray in communion:
- For more hands in the field
- For open hearts among refugees, status holders and Dutch nationals
- For blessing on cooperation with Ichthus Alive
- For sufficient funds to continue our GOchurch
💛 Together we are GOchurch
GOchurch exists because of the prayers, time and support of people like you. Now that we are continuing as an independent community and the number of initiatives is growing, we need support more than ever. Would you like to contribute - personally, from your church or with your company - to this work that brings hope and restoration to Goeree-Overflakkee?
Go to www.gochurch.nl/doneer/ To contribute financially
Or report via www.gochurch.nl/#contact to volunteer.
Again, thank you so much for your continued involvement and support. Together may we continue to build God's Kingdom.

An inside look at one of the six Gave camps
On Monday, July 28, 45 participants arrived at our camp, including two from Stellendam and one who previously lived in Stellendam. And also a volunteer went along as a participant.
Everyone is welcome, are you for the first time or for the umpteenth time. As a team of 17 people, including 3 cooks, we want to see everyone and be there for everyone. One female and one male leader form a group with about 7 young people from a variety of cultures. Every morning we have half an hour of quiet time after breakfast. It is then really quiet in and around the place, we always try to give guidance to the keeping of quiet time and personal Bible reading and prayer. Special to see this, so many young people with open Bibles in their own language. They are Dutch youth, refugee youth, Muslims, Christians, atheists.... But there is a lot of respect! The theme is "upside, down." God looks at we humans differently than we look at each other. Where we sometimes "put people out or discard" people, God puts people in.
Then there will be an introduction to Bible study and then break up into groups and Bible study until about a quarter to 12. In the afternoon there is room for relaxation and fun activities. In the evenings there are varying activities, also to get to know each other's culture better. Almost all evenings we end the day at the campfire, so wonderful what happens. Young people dance to the music from their country or just a Dutch song. They sit next to each other, talk to each other, golden!
We work with the Bible studies toward the evening of the cross on Thursday. The cross is the focus then. What does Jesus mean to us? We sang "Yes, God is good, God is good to me" in everyone's own language. Goose bump moment when you hear everyone sing that, especially if you've heard many harrowing and intense stories in that week what young people have been through or are still in. It was rainy in the afternoon and we wanted to go outside, to the cross we had prepared and where we had prayed with some team members. Extraordinary how the light broke through the clouds. "Lord, Your light and love shine, where You are WILL the night disappear". After singing, everyone wrote a bill with a desire, a confession, a question or whatever to nail it to the cross later, so bring it to Jesus and leave it there. Impressive moment when one by one the young people go outside to the cross, nail their bill and sometimes kneel down before the cross. Great when young people get to give their hearts to Jesus there! A lot of stories and emotions come loose. We may then cry together, be happy and pray and give thanks. The highlight of the week!
We end with a fun day, bonte evening with a real three-course meal in your finest attire. Food also always does well that week. Cooks make an effort to provide a hot meal twice a day and also all kinds of food from all kinds of countries. You can see the faces smiling gratefully! Saturday morning we conclude and the young people go home again. Many young people said they felt they had gained an extra family during the week. Of course we have to let go of each other again, but we do so in relaxation: trusting that the Father places new people in their path who will take care of them. And God's Word never comes back empty...sown, God will provide the harvest!
They all got a card to take home with the group photo and where everyone was allowed to write something. I see all happy faces and I am sure many have the card hanging above their bed and smile again when they see this!
I am grateful that I get to be a leader at such a week and see God working there right in front of me! A boost for my own faith life. It costs me nothing, it only brings me very beautiful things.
Thank you for sponsoring and praying with us!!! I gladly recommend the work of the Gave Foundation to you. Is your interest piqued? Every year they are still looking for leaders? So feel free to sign up!

A safe place
Sighing, he put down his phone. Another call with a direct threat. This was the fourth in two days. It fueled his restlessness, uncertainty and fear. He wanted to leave. It seemed like no one was listening. COA responded laconically and his friends were no help to him either. He was terrified. When he went outside he would look over his shoulder to make sure he wasn't being followed. And all because he started believing in another God, in Jesus.
Zaid is a young man from Syria. Since Zaïd went with Gave Foundation's gift camp, he has become curious about Christianity and wants to know more about Jesus. He has jumped in so much that he has come to the realization that Jesus is really the only way. But since he wants to know more about Jesus, he regularly receives calls from unknown numbers, where unknown men threaten him with death. It frightens, depresses and unsettles him. Especially since Zaid knows all too well that in his culture these kinds of threats are not fake, this is real life.Â
Zaïd has good contact with GOchurch volunteers. From time to time, he appends one of them when he is scared, out of it or just wants to get rid of his worries. This morning things are so bad, he really doesn't know what to do. While crying, he texts an app saying that he can't take it anymore and really needs to leave where he is now. The GOchurch volunteer knows immediately that this is serious. Within the GOchurch volunteer group an appeal is made and the same day Zaid can go to a family where a room is still available. There he was lovingly received that evening.
For three days, Zaid stays with the hospitable family. They eat together, have beautiful conversations and read from the Bible. While playing with the children and alone in his room, he comes to rest.Â
Meanwhile, GOchurch was able to convince COA of the untenable situation and after three days a transfer was arranged elsewhere in the country. Where Zaïd will be taken by one of the GOchurch volunteers. Glad to have him in a safe, new place.Â
A few weeks later, the volunteer who brought him away visits again. Just to see how our brother is doing. And there she sees what a wonderful work God is doing in his life. Zaid looked well and relaxed. He told her that he soon came into contact with Dutch Christians and went to church with them. And even that he is taking Bible studies and will soon be baptized. He sees life again, thanks to everything we have done together for him. He is very grateful for that.Â
Sometimes what we do seems very small. An elevator from place a to b. Providing an empty bedroom for a few days. Or praying for a brother in need. But this story teaches us that our work, however small, may be a link in the wonderful work God is doing in lives. God works lives changing!
